Budapest, 27-29 October, 2008
Under the high patronage of H. E. the President of the Republic of Hungary, László Sólyom
Organized by Instytut Wschodni and Constellation Energy Institute
Recent developments have put energy issues at the forefront of public policy discussions in the European Union, and in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) in particular. As historically high and volatile prices, climate change related concerns, sustainable development, rapid technological change, and national security considerations converge, CEE is facing many important strategic decisions that could have long lasting implications for its economic and political development. The Energy Forum series is becoming the key venue in CEE for exchange of ideas and open debate about these issues between political and business leaders in Central Eastern Europe, including ministers and heads of state. This year, Energy Forum will focus on the key energy challenges of the region and how the region might influence EU policy.
The Energy Forum is the largest and most comprehensive conference on energy in Central Eastern Europe. Previous events have attracted all key stakeholders, including politicians, businesspeople and advocacy groups, from the region as well as Russia, Central Asia, the European Union and the Unites States.
